Pranayoga Breathe and Release
Tuesdays at 10:15 AM at Angel City Yoga
This class is appropriate for Yoga beginners, seniors and those with limitations due to injuries and surgery. A gradual unfolding and expansion is accomplished with deep breathing in conjunction with yoga postures; the pace is quite moderate and relaxed. Similar to Restorative classes, the body's own weight is used to assist the process of stretching, lengthening and creating space in joints, soft tissues and muscles. There is an equal application of energy with intention and gravity with release. Deep Yogic breathing (Pranayama) facilitates the unfolding via the internal expansion/contraction associated with the breath; breath awareness also generates a peaceful and focused state of mind.


Yoga for the Bigger Body

Yoga isn't just for the thin and fit. It's for Every Body--including yours. In this class you will practice yoga adapted for the Bigger Body in a supportive environment. Poses are made accessible through the use of props (straps, blocks, bolsters, blankets) and the pace is patient and mindful with ample opportunity to move into and through each posture. Deep yoga breathing together with the posture work will activate and release your core energy, stimulating better digestion and metabolism. Inner strength is cultivated to assist your process of cultivating a positive relationship with your weight issues, your body and the world.

Gentle Yoga and Meditation
Sundays at 6:00 PM at Angel City Yoga

Asana (postures) and Dhyana (meditation) are interwoven. The physical body via the postures ais utilized as an object of concentration and awareness along with Pranayamas (yogic breathing) and Bandha (core focusing), Mantra (chanting) and Nada Yoga (sound waves), building a mindful condition that is then put into short meditations. We then continue with more Asana, followed by more meditation, and so progressing further into a engaged, awakened meditative awareness.
